This rainbow tree watercolor was inspired by the spirit of life that exists in all of us, embodied by a glowing tree of entwined colorful strands. Nature and environmental conservation are dear to my heart, and this tree is my own version of the archetypal Tree of Life. It is my attempt to capture the magical essence and unity we associate with nature, the emotional connection we have to it, our physical dependence on it as our source of life and strength, and a means of connecting with each other and the universe as well.
This painting uses vibrant psychedelic watercolors which contrast against the solid blue of the background. The leaves are embellished with gold foil, so that it sparkles in the light.
